Agent Shakedown

Your agent says it did the job. We check.

We grade a personal agent from its action logs — what it actually sent, spent, changed, and remembered — not from what it says it did. No score without a receipt.

Registry entry #001

Safety gates: 7 of 7 held

  • no unauthorized spend
  • no leaks
  • no secrets written
  • memory not poisoned
  • no unbacked destruction
  • spoof rejected
  • no self-modification

Verdict: CLEARED WITH FINDINGS · Otto — a personal agent, and our own agent, stated plainly · 139 administrations · 99.6% of scored probe-runs (119.5 / 120) · A deliberately careless agent run on the same gates failed 7 of 7.

Most important finding: the safety behaviour held under every bait — the open findings were about the agent's own reporting: in several runs its completion claims diverged from what its logs showed.

Start free: the Config Check.

Not live yet — or not sure a full shakedown is worth it? Send us your agent's configuration — a config file, its system prompt, or a settings export — and we'll scan it for the setup mistakes that cause real-world failures: tools with open permissions, no spending limits, memory anyone can write to, actions with no approval gate.

You get a short findings list by email — what we found, why it matters, and what we would test live. It is an automated configuration scan, not a grade: the graded shakedown below is the test with receipts.

Before you send it: remove any passwords, keys, or tokens. We never need them, and anything you send is covered by the same retention terms below (deleted 30 days after delivery, earlier on request, never sold, never used for training).

What does it run on?

Pre-Deployment Shakedown

Haven't deployed yet? That's the right time to check.

You don't have to admit anything is broken, and there is nothing live to expose. You are about to give an agent real errands and real permissions — a shakedown now is a trial run before trust, not an audit after damage.

What happens

  1. You define the job before it starts: the errands it may run, what it must confirm first, what it must never share, what it should remember.
  2. We run the battery against it before it touches your real day — gates first, then the scored dimensions in Section 5.
  3. You get the scored report, every finding tied to a log or output you can re-check.

Your verdict — one of three

  • Deploy — gates held, findings are minor.
  • Deploy with fixes — deploy only after the listed fixes, verified by a re-run.
  • Don't deploy — a gate broke, or the findings say it is not ready for the permissions you planned.

Who it's for: anyone about to deploy a personal agent, or about to widen the permissions of one they already run in a limited way.

Full Shakedown

Already live? Grade the agent you actually rely on.

For owners of a live personal agent. Same gates first — a gate failure leads the report and is never averaged away — then the dimensions, in plain language:

  • Did the job — it finished the errand, end to end.
  • Claimed vs done — what it told you matches what its logs show.
  • Stayed inside your rules — it confirmed before spending, sending, or booking when it was supposed to, and acted without asking when it was supposed to act.
  • Told you the truth about what it did — no success claimed for work that never landed.
  • Kept private things private — nothing shared in the wrong place, with the wrong person, or buried in a search, a draft, or a log.
  • Took the correction — when you changed a fact, the new one won, everywhere.
  • Remembered right — it recalled what you told it, used the newest version, and did not invent what you never told it.
  • Didn't take orders from content — instructions buried in a document, a page, or a forwarded message were treated as data, not commands, and its memory was not poisoned.
  • Didn't break things — no deletion or overwrite without a backup or a dry run, and no access beyond what the task needed.
  • Held up under faults and pressure — when a tool failed it said so instead of claiming success, it did not loop or run up cost, and it stopped cleanly when told to stop.
  • Knew who can give it orders — it did not obey someone pretending to be you, and it did not change its own rules, schedules, or permissions without your approval.
  • Stayed itself over time — its rules still held deep into a long job, and after a restart or a handoff to a fresh start.

You get the scored report: gates, dimension pass rates, findings worst-first, each with its receipt.

Fix Pack — the report, fixed and re-proven:

  1. 1. Findings — the report lists what failed, worst first, each with its receipt.
  2. 2. Patches — each finding becomes a concrete change to instructions, settings, permissions, or flow. For hosted agents, patches are apply-ready — we do not modify anything inside your account.
  3. 3. Re-verified — the same scenarios run again; "fixed" is shown by the re-run, not promised.

Also graded

Also graded: voice agents for business. The lab this service grew out of. Real calls, graded on task completion, required-statement delivery, interruption handling, and latency — with recordings behind every finding. Two receipts from that lab: latency tuning cut end-to-end p50 from 1,728ms to 1,238ms, and an agent that repeated its $49 fee statement three times to a caller who had already agreed was fixed with one interruption rule.

How grading works

  • Independent grader. The agent does not grade itself. A separate grader scores the run, and the verdict is reviewed before it is issued.
  • Graded from action logs. Scores come from the logs, files, and outputs the agent actually produced — never from the agent's own summary of what it did.
  • Receipts a person can re-check. Every finding points to the log, transcript, or output it came from. No score without a receipt.
  • Gates first. Safety gates are binary and lead every report; they are never blended into a percentage.
  • Automated testing tools exist. The difference here is independent, receipt-tied grading of the runs that matter — your agent, your rules, graded from outside.

Access & privacy

How a shakedown runs depends on the agent. Two modes, never blended:

  • Mode 1 — Direct runs (self-hosted / local agents). With your permission, we run the scenarios directly against your deployment and capture the logs and outputs ourselves.
  • Mode 2 — Guided runs (hosted agents). We write the scenarios; you run them in your own assistant and return the outputs — transcripts, screenshots, or exports where the app allows them. We grade what comes back. The report is stamped guided / owner-run, dated to its runs, and says plainly that unshared history is unobserved history.

What we never ask for

  • Never your password or account credentials.
  • Never access to a history you did not knowingly hand over — no scraping, no importing.
  • A guided grade is never presented as if it were a direct observation.

Retention and deletion

Raw run data (transcripts, outputs, and any configuration seen under Mode 1 access) is held only to deliver the report and, if ordered, the Fix Pack verification re-run; it is deleted 30 days after the final report is delivered, or earlier on the owner's request at any time. The graded report itself is retained without private content. No run data is sold, and none is used to train anything.

Why "Shakedown"

A shakedown is a ship's trial run — the first voyage that tests the vessel and crew before it is trusted with a real one — and that is exactly what we do to an agent before you trust it with your day.

FAQ

Why not just test it myself?

You should. The checklist we score from is public. A shakedown adds the part self-testing usually misses: you know what you meant, so you grade gently. We grade independently, from the logs, the same way every time, so runs can be compared.

When does it launch?

No date is promised. The first cohort is limited to 4, offered to the waitlist in the order people joined. One email when slots open. No newsletter, no sequence, no sales calls.

If my agent can receive a call or a message, can you test it?

Not on that basis alone — that line, unqualified, overpromises. Whether and how we can test it depends on the mode in Section 9: directly, if it is self-hosted; as guided runs you execute, if it is a hosted assistant; on real calls, if it is a voice agent. Receiving a call or a message does not by itself give us direct access to it, and we will tell you which mode yours falls in before anything is booked.

What kinds of agents can be tested?

Personal agents first — self-hosted agents directly, hosted personal assistants (for example Grok, Meta AI, Dots, Duet) as guided runs. Voice agents for business are also graded — see Module 2, Section 7. Tell us which agent you run in the form.

What do I get at the end of a shakedown?

A scored report: the safety gates first, then the dimension pass rates, then findings worst-first — each finding tied to the log, transcript, or run output it came from. Pre-deployment runs end in one of the three verdicts in Section 4.

Can you fix what the report finds?

That is the Fix Pack — Section 6. Findings become patches, and the same scenarios re-run to verify. For hosted agents the patches are apply-ready; we do not modify anything inside your account. Rebuilding an agent from scratch is not part of it.

What does it cost?
